What do we mean by « feeling at home »? And when we are there, to which distant places do we allow ourselves to dream? Based on a few concrete answers, From my window offers an invitation to travel between documentary and fiction, radio and performance, theatre and sound creation.
An ‘intercom‘ of course evokes the doorbell of a building and the distance of the person on another floor who needs to use this intercom to know who wants to contact them or enter their home. It is first a voice we hear without being physically close, but almost there. Interphono will question the personal space, the home where a bell rings, and someone is there on the other side for a possible encounter. From the solitude of a person at home, the outside world calls, and an encounter is possible.
Interphono brings together a diversity of residents through a similar sound-collecting experience, starting from a neighborhood. We are creating a sound mapping of the city here in 2024, 2025…
A ‘cartophony‘ made up of a series of portraits of residents of a large city.
These will be photographic and sound traces of the city in our time.
Interphono is an investigation into a city in transformation, immersed with its residents. The Théâtre de la Tricoterie (Brussels) is leading this European project in 2024, based on an idea and concept by Delphine Salkin.
Radio-theatre workshops are offered to residents of several neighborhoods with a sound restitution: creating traces of the city, memory spaces of these years 2023, 2024.
These workshops are conducted in connection with a partner cultural structure in each country.
Interphono brings together three sound creations and three stage productions that will be presented on April 13-14, 2025, during a 3-day festival at La Tricoterie in Brussels.
